The 3-year BA programme gives students a core knowledge of European politics, culture and society, whilst emphasizing Europe’s role in a wider global framework. Key concepts, such as culture, identity, diversity, democratic processes, Europeanisation and globalization are discussed in an interdisciplinary manner. Tackling with European affairs through a sociological, political and economic lens, students gain a cross-sectional awareness of the many challenges facing contemporary societies. The programme equips with tools to analyse current events and understand the complexities of political, socio-economic phenomena, and prepares students for further education in the field of international relations.

Students acquire extensive knowledge of the European region from cultural, political and social perspectives. Programme gives in-depth understanding of history and idea(s) of Europe, legal, philosophical and economic foundations of modern European civilization, the democratic processes and formation of civil society in Europe. Students gain an understanding of basic philosophical, sociological and anthropological concepts, necessary in the analysis of cultural change and political transformations.
Course of studies explores questions pertaining to political doctrines and ideologies, political systems and governments, international public law, as well as various mechanisms of the market and global economy. The focus on the European Union provides students with the knowledge of EU institutions, policies and decision-making processes. In particular, the EU is studied as a global actor, taking into consideration the principles of EU law and foreign policy, issues of global security, and international conflicts.
The programme equips students with research and problem-solving skills, and gives methodological and practical tools to critically analyse and diagnose social and political phenomena. Students gain competence in writing and public speaking, learning to work individually, as well as in a team. The programme stresses the importance of language skills: students learn a foreign languages as well as academic English.
INTERNSHIP
Students are highly encouraged to conduct an internship within the course of their studies to acquire practical experience. CES has a developed net of partner institutions in Europe where students can undertake internship.
